During the initial phase of the ACNM-ACOG IPE project Maternity Care Education and Practice Redesign, project and site leaders met at the University of Minnesota to discuss the work ahead. The group agreed upon seven core IPE modules to be developed, with each site accepting responsibility for development and review of specific modules.

The seven core IPE modules are:

  1. Introduction to Guiding Principles for Team-based Care
  2. Patient Centered Care
  3. Role Clarification
  4. Collaborative Practice
  5. History and Culture of Birth in the US
  6. Care Transition, Situational Leadership
  7. Difficult Conversations
